What? This exists? It is so. . . long. And thicc. One beefy boi. They went through all the extra trouble of making a unique single piece swinging rear hatch? WHAT IS THIS?!?!?!

I was going to point out the RHD. No way is this USDM and we haven't heard about it. Seems like a surprisingly well done adaption.

The ad has Australia on it, so only for them? The one I see is registered in Oklahoma. Maybe it was a flop in Oz, Toyota beat them and they quit?

Wow they made 128 Scramblers in 1986. My cousins best friend had a Scrambler when we were in school, we thought he was cool. His brother had a CRX, he was cool too.

So, I was wrong, I had heard of it, because I mentioned it in my truck series . If Id seen a photo of one I definitely would have included it.

We had them in the 80s down here in Oz and they were sought after for a bit. But the last time I saw one was near on 15 years ago. They had a love of rust, fuel and broken chassis components and utterly appalling dealer support. A lovely idea but, like most American vehicles that came here at that time, way too fragile for the environment they were operating in and way too expensive to be that fragile.

I would have a Toyota there, I was down there a few years ago and went all over.

CJ8s are rare, so I cant imagine how rare a special edition of it is.
Semi-related I saw a normal CJ8 the other day:
